Actors Workshop - Middle East Dramatic Arts Forum

Acting Workshop focusing on the Middle East

Date: 17th -18th January 2009

Venue: Kensal House, Ladbroke Grove, London W10 5BQ

Are you between the ages of 16 and 26?

Have you ever aspired to act on stage or star in a film?

Do you have Arabic roots, influences, experiences or interests?

Join Rima Brihi, director of the highly successful Arab-Israeli Cookbook and founding member of the Middle East Dramatic Arts Forum, for a weekend workshop that will teach basic acting skills around a shared Arabic interest.

The workshop will be supported by Nabil Elouahabi, best known for his role as Tariq in Eastenders.

More recently, Nabil has played real-life terrorist Ramzi Yousef in the television mini-series The Path to 9/11 and as Meesh, a Kuwaiti translator, in HBO's Generation Kill.

Together with local artists, musicians (tbc) and the insights of a diverse range of participants, we will work as a group to explore the play Human Honey, which tells the story of a family living in Iraq during the first Gulf War.  A final performance will be given on the Sunday evening to a local audience.
