Shaun Smith wowed the judges with his rendition of Ain't No Sunshine at his audition and has gone on to do it again in the semi finals where he sang With or Without You by U2.

The 17-year-old from Lichfield made a new friend in Simon Cowell saying he had a "very authentic sounding voice" and added that he didn't make it sound kareoke. Despite being compared to Mick Hucknall, "but good looking" by Cowell it is obvious to see that the judge took a shine to the keen Rugby player. Amanda Holden said in the first auditions that Shaun needed to believe more in himself and in the semi final he had taken her criticism on board and gave a slow- blooming but outstanding performance which saw him through to the finals along with dance troupe Flawless.

Shaun's main rivals in the competition so far are other singers Susan Boyle and Shaheen Jafargoli despite all three sounding very different, but as Ant and Dec said on Britain's Got More Talent; "It wouldn't be bad if a singer won this show but there are other shows for singers, its nice that we can have a lot of variety on the show."
With two days of semi finals left and more singers yet to be seen could Brit Chix or the charms of cheeky chap Callum Francis knock Shaun from his dreams?

Semi Final 4 is on at 8.30 tonight.
