Sophie looking lovely in a yellow and orange chiffon lyrical style dress danced a perfectly choreographed piece live on stage over the weekend and scooped up the title of Miss Dance at the I.D.T.A finals held in the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Sunday.

Sophie qualified for the Miss Dance Final at Steel City Dance Festival in Sheffield. The talented young dancer and winner of the IDTA Senior International Ballet Championship 2008, wowed this years judging panel Jean Geddes, Cynthia Carr, Lynda Cardwell, Gerry Zuccarello and Simon Green with her perfectly presented and well choreographed piece. Competition was stiff this year with brilliant performances from 48 young girls from all around the UK.

As winner of the title Sophie was presented with a cheque for £1,000, the Miss Dance sash and a bouqet of flowers by President of the I.D.T.A Colin Donaldson who travelled over 200 miles to Blackpool specially to watch his daughter Kerri Anne perform with her Latin American Ballroom dance partner Alejandro Hernandez in the evening cabaret before the Miss Dance winner was announced.
